I have a distinctive approach to my work. The key features are:
- I like to be inclusive and offer opportunities for key stakeholders to participate. I often use workshops as I find these a useful way of bringing large numbers together for a short and focused piece of work. This maximises involvement and ownership.
- I focus on building skills and competencies within the organisation. I like to do things with you rather than for you. This provides opportunities for on the job training and coaching.
- My approach is challenging and positive. I am honest and straightforward and will tell you what I see but I always acknowledge commitment and hard work and build on strengths.
- I am skilled at analysing problems and finding creative solutions. I do this by drawing on examples from many different authorities and am always keen to identify and develop local examples of good practice.
- My work is value based. I believe that everyone should have the opportunity to fulfil their potential and to take part in decisions which affect them.
- I do the work and don’t use associates. This means you receive a consistent service and approach right through the process.
